• Putting Humans at the Center of Health Care Innovation

Helix Centre features as one of three healthcare innovators studied in this piece  in the Harvard Business Review, alongside the Mayo Clinic's Centre for Innovation, and the Consortium for Affordable Medical Technologies (CAMTech) at Massachusetts General Hospital.

Our Helix colleagues Yasser Bhatti and Jacqueline del Castillo explored how innovation labs such as ours have established themselves within hospital contexts. In doing so, they uncovered similarities in human-centred and co-create approaches within health care as well as challenges our centres have faced.

They have made six recommendations for introducing and managing design-led innovation within healthcare. In their words, “the first-movers we describe here demonstrate the potential for human-centered design and, though it’s still early days, are setting the stage for how healthcare can redesign itself from within."
